The five-member City Council is elected by the public to staggered, four-year terms.
The Council is responsible for policy development and oversight.
Day-to-day operations are overseen by the City Manager.



Regular Council Meetings are held on the
SECOND & FOURTH WEDNESDAYS of each month at 7:00pm,
in Council Chambers at Colfax City Hall

Annually, the offices of Mayor and Mayor Pro-Tem are selected by and from the sitting members of the Council. In December of 2002, the Council, by motion, adopted a policy that the office of Mayor is rotated annually according to seniority, excepting those who have already served.
